End of October update...

So about a month ago, I took part in a photography competition, the topic was bouldering, and everybody were allowed to send three photographs. I didn't really think I would ever actually get anywhere so you can imagine my surprise when I checked the results and my name was printed after where it said 3rd place.

3rd place

So what did I win? I think I'm getting a Organic Climbing Beanie in the post sometime soon. Somebody said to me after I told about the prize that it's not that good. Well I'm psyched, as the people who know me know I freaking love beanies of all sorts, and it's not really about the prizes it's just really nice to see people liked my photo.

So what else has been happening, it has been quite a long time since I actually wrote something here. Well it's been quite busy at work, and the weather hasn't been that good anymore. Quite a bit of rain, and the temps are getting a bit coldish, and it's getting harder and harder to warm up so I have had quite a few training sessions indoors instead. I've also started to train my slack line skills a bit, and it's been really fun to do something else then bouldering all the time.

Not that the 3rd place in the comp wasn't enough, I also got a package from Black Diamond today. A brand new pair of Factors got a new home and I'm one happy young man or at least for the next few days until I turn 28. But who cares the sooner the month changes the quicker I get my new skis, get to hang around some old mates at the skiexpo and then it's time for the La Sportiva Climbing Party. Hopefully by the time all that is over we have got some snow around Finland and I can start the ski season.

About the upcoming ski season, well my plan is to ride as much as possible. Don't really care if it's the tiny hills of Southern Finland, getting smashed on some small jumps and dodgy rails, but as long as I can get some days down before our trip to Hemsedal in Norway I'll be super happy. Hopefully this year will be different then the others and we will actually get some decent pow on our trip.

  1. That's a cracking photo. Good effort. The colours on the underside of the trees make it. Enjoy the beanie! :-)
